Since grade 8, when I discovered the true joy of reading novels coupled with the opportunity to write about whatever I wanted in literature class, I took to writing bit by bit. I am not talking about novels or anything extensive, but like many kids and adolescents I started with a diary, then moved on to a book of notes and thoughts. Later on (late 80s to mid 90s) I devised a number of writing projects but …….. I never went very far with any of them.
Fast forward to mid and late 2000s with the Internet tsunami, which brought with it the internet radio, more commonly called webradio. I fiddled around and procrastinated long enough that webradio became a commodity and easy to create. So I went for it, in the hope of getting somewhere in the world of (web) radio. Yes! I wanted to become a Radio Star, because unlike what a certain song said decades ago, video did not kill the radio star.
The radio and the intended show did not go very far, but the other day I decided to turn the idea around into a blog (in the new business jargon we say “pivot the idea”), carrying my thoughts, views and observations. I scan the media and suddenly something attracts my attention enough to write something about it. No specific theme, as long as I think the topic (and of course my writing) can convey something intelligent, entertaining or informative. One last info: the posts will come every Monday and Thursday, and don’t worry they will not be long.
So now you have it, The Other Day’s genesis, a simple person’s ranteleums (rants), words of wisdom, and anything else that may make sense.
