We published an article last February 9 on brain wave machines, in which we discussed the 5 types of wave in human brain system: alpha (α), beta (β), theta (θ), delta (δ) and gamma (γ). Each of these waves is observed in specific mind states (deep sleep, focused, meditating, ...), and has a specific frequency range.
As we were reflecting on this topic, we realized that in physics, more specifically in particle physics, 4 of those wave labels exist as rays/particles: alpha, beta, delta, gamma, with theta missing.
To better explain our discovery, we have produced a comparative table below:
Label | Brain wave (neuroscience world) | Particle ray (particle physics world) |
alpha | Relaxation, calmness | Alpha decay of 2 proton/2neutron |
beta | Alertness, wakefulness | Beta decay of an atomic nucleus |
theta | Meditation, creativity, dreaming | - |
delta | Deep sleep, unconsciousness | Very fast electrons from secondary alpha decay |
gamma | High concentration, focus | Very high energy particles from radioactive decay |
We will not delve into the details as our intention today is not to give our readers a physics lesson. We brought this topic up, because looking at the table above, we observed that our Dual Cosmic Singularity postulates about Big Bang and Life explain certain similarities in relationships between the two systems (neuroscience, particle physics). We address more specifically three of those observations:
- In particle physics (Big Bang singularity), the delta ray is related to the alpha ray, as it is the secondary alpha ray/decay; delta ray comes after alpha ray. In brain waves (Life singularity) delta wave represents the state of deep sleep and unconsciousness, which in a certain way is after alpha wave which represents relaxation and calmness-we first have the state of relaxation and calmness (alpha wave), before we fall into deep sleep and unconsciousness (delta wave).
- When we look at the two gamma elements, we observe a strong similarity: in neuroscience (Life singularity) gamma wave represents high concentration and focus, and in particle physics (Big Bang singularity) gamma ray represents very high energy, and short (focused) wavelength.
- Finally we notice that theta-which in neuroscience represents meditation, creativity and dreaming-does not exist in particle physics. We postulate from this observation that without the Life singularity, the universe will be devoid of creativity and dreaming. The Big Bang singularity alone is not apt to have consciousness, and in the absence of consciousness there is no dreaming.
Our main takeaway from this analysis is that although cosmology and physics originated from Big Bang singularity and both sciences are self-sufficient, they require Life to be appreciated. This discovery is consistent with fictional science, but we have not resolved yet whether it is also consistent with pataphysics.
