We are back from rest and recreation, on a befitting Labor Day holiday! That is if you live in North America, and UK. In many other countries, especially in Europe, Labor Day is celebrated on May 1st. But the topic of this post is not Labor Day. It is what I would call (humorously) «Nubes Rosea Cannabinoidus» in Australia! It is a term I invented to say «Pink Cannabinoidus Cloud», which was what many residents saw this Summer in a town (Mildura) in the State of Victoria, Australia.
The other day, I came across the article below, which described the situation. Apparently, a company (Cann Group) which is the first Australian company to secure a license for medicinal cannabis, has a production plant in the Mildura region. The plant received its license on July 7, although it had collected its first harvest back in June.
Now from the article I understand that cannabis plants have faster growth and higher yield under the ‘red’ light spectrum (not to be mistaken with red light district!) which is blocked from outside view through black opaque shudders and shades. However, on the fateful day people forgot to pull the shades and so a beautiful and mysterious pink aurora was projected onto the sky which apparently mesmerized the residents who rushed to see it, some of whom may have thought the Judgement Day was upon us, only to find out that it was human error in a production plant!!
I really recommend you take a peek at the article referenced below even if you do not read, for the picture is spectacular. When I saw it, two images came to my mind: An extra-terrestrial landing or a nuclear blast, neither of which is a true welcome sight. It is obvious why the second image is bad news, but you wonder why I also consider the first one (extra-terrestrial landing) to also be bad news? Well look at us humans and our collective stupidity, which has not disappeared, in spite of our technological advancement so I should be afraid the extra-terrestrials who would be more technologically advanced than us may be even more stupd than us (for more on that, you can go back to my June 16, 2022 post - ‘future may be a sad fulfilled prophecy’).
I wonder if one day people will start demonstrating with the following message to world leaders, starting with Vladimir Putin: «Make Cannabis, Not Weapons»!
