- Omid-X to hopesoo-Z (his companion on planet X) -
My dearest, loveliest Hopesoo, whose absence by my side is beginning to weigh heavily on my psyche. I have reached a point that I am thinking of returning to our home planet. But to be able to think sanely, I first need to pour out my soul’s pollution to calm down, and as it is often the case, you are the receptacle of my sorrows, and my pacifier.
The situation, these days, has been tragic. The world has become the scene of an inhumane battle between different cabals whose objectives do not seem to match the humanity and the civilization they are expected - or pretend - to represent. When I study this planet’s history, I realize that the period of Earth, which we captured on our instruments - which led us to pick it as an evolved intelligent life- was an exception for these people. An exception that has been erased, and replaced by this life-form's authentic tendencies.
Years ago, when at school, I read about our planet’s horrendous pre-implosion decade of darkness, I wondered how it would be to actually live that period. I recall reading testimonies about how during that tragic period, our world had been polarized between a few competing groups of powerful people and organizations. How countries had banded together around these groups’ dogmas to the point where anything that disagreed with their underlying beliefs was censored.
The methods by which this censorship took place varied: some were authoritatively censored by the governments, others were public propaganda-based social coercion, and yet others were embellished through intentional malicious lies. The outcomes, however, were convergent. It was sad to live on our planet at that time: no-one could ever be neutral; you could not obtain the whole truth anywhere; and certainly common sense and critical thinking had been abandoned to the cult of greed, indifference, and conformity.
There were those who cried out the societal evolution for they knew that violence breathes violence, and arrogance leads to contempt, and nothing good has ever come out of violence and contempt. Not to mention that contempt often leads to disrespect, and when an entire society develops disrespect towards another group, the path from arrogance is a thoroughfare to xenophobia and eventually even fascism and genocide.
Yes, my dearest angel, these are the thoughts I have been contemplating these days. They are not pleasant nor constructive, but I have difficulty freeing myself of them. This is why I am thinking about quitting the project and returning home to you and my lifegivers. I must say, had it not been for the company and the advice of Henry Dimplefink, I would have been long gone from this planet. I have given myself until Earth’s Winter Solstice, expected in a little less than eight months (Earth time), to make my final decision. For now, I bid you farewell and wish you health, wealth and happiness.
