Even though it was an iceberg that caused the sinking of Titanic, these sea-monsters are very popular, and as the article below shows, iceberg tourism and commerce is beneficial to many people, in particular Canadians living on Newfoundland’s Atlantic coast.
The other day, I came across this article (and I recommend you open the link just to see the picture) talking about a photographer who had photographed a phallic shape iceberg using his drone-camera. The view apparently would not have been as ‘breathtaking’ had it been shot from the ground. I am sure as soon as you see the picture, you can understand why this picture made it around the world and into the Guardian newspaper.
But what is even more amusing, is the details of the photographer: the gentleman’s name is Ken Pretty, and he is from the town of Dildo, Newfoundland! And yes, there have been many puns thrown at the picture, such as «dickie berg», or «Dick’s Cove», or that it has enough ice for the «stiffest drink». And stories continue.
The even funnier aspect of this hilarity is that the bulbous tip of the iceberg broke off and I guess it no longer looked as phallic and it was, after this circumcision that mother nature carried on dickie berg!
Frankly speaking, though, I wonder which one is more entertaining: the phallic iceberg, or people around the world, apparently in particular in Saudi Arabia, China or South Korea who buy the iceberg water for a fortune.
Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention, I have been mulling over buying a drone-camera for aerial photography and filming. I have not fixed my price limit yet, but since I want something nice, I know it will be pricey, so I have been holding back. But now I know I should get one before the next icy-heat season!
